*Per Kirr (Cross not included)
Kirr: aka Matab, is tied around the neck of baptized Christians and believers as a symbol of faith since ancient Christian times.
The Cross: represents our salvation and Orthodox Tewahedo faith. It continues to remind us of the sufferings and death of our Lord Iyesus Kristos (Jesus Christ). For Orthodox Tewahedo Christians, it represents the sign of peace, deliverance, victory and eternal hope of the resurrection.
The blessings (to name a few) that it conveys for us as Orthodox Tewahedo Christians, is overall health for the body, spiritual grace and divine protection from evil spirits.
The wooden Meskel (Cross) reminds us of our Lord and Savior Iyesus Kristos (Jesus Christ’s) crucifixion on the wooden cross.
